With consistent and numerous set-ups, a captivating landscape, gastronomic delights and friendly, family-oriented people, it’s no wonder that Mexico is such a popular surf trip. The waves around Four Seasons Punta Mita are indeed popular and consistent but often break in the small to medium size range, making them dreamy for longboarding or riding a fish or funboard. Winter is best here and the best way to access the breaks is aboard our boat. One&Only Mandarina is a secluded resort that’s a thirty-minute drive further along this same coast. It enjoys its own left point on property as well as access to other secluded spots nearby. But the jewel there is a secluded left-hand point that becomes world-class when mid-year, Southern groundswells light the place up. Further North on the Baja Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas has long been popular and whilst there are quality waves just five-minutes from our base at One&Only Palmilla, the highlight is a Summer trip to surf the long, right-hand points out in the remarkable desert of the East Cape. Here it’s still possible to score un-crowded line-ups. Cabo’s culinary scene is a remarkable offering after a long day of endless walls.
